Attorneys Sandy Dolowitz and Jim Hunnicutt first encountered one another in 2010 when representing opposing sides in a contentious divorce case. That adversarial experience bred a considerable amount of mutual respect and admiration, which became the cornerstone of their friendship. This respect later led to the formation of Dolowitz Hunnicutt, PLLC, when Sandy and Jim forged their partnership on April Fool’s Day 2011. They set out to create a firm that combined their diverse and extensive experience to provide the best possible representation for their clients. Sandy later retired in July 2016.

Kaitlyn Gibbs joined the firm in 2018, bringing significant family law expertise. Like Sandy and Jim, Kaitlyn and Jim’s professional relationship began as adversaries on a case. That experience quickly fostered admiration of each other’s legal acumen and dedication to their clients. The firm officially changed its name in January 2024 to Dolowitz Hunnicutt & Gibbs, reflecting Kaitlyn’s professionalism, exceptional advocacy skills, and deep commitment to the team.
